Hi, I'm Noah.

And I'm the founder of Caldo. About eight years ago, I slipped a disc in my lower back and neglected to care for it properly. I was careless and didn't have the knowledge for how to rehab it correctly, nor did I realize the consequences that would ensue for not doing so. I learned a hard lesson that how you treat your body, and what you put in it, has a direct impact on the quality of your life. The following years were much more difficult than they should have been as a result. Determined not to make that same mistake again, I started reading, listening and experimenting with just about everything to do with human optimization. I've tried just about every diet (seriously, ask my family and friends), exercise class and supplement out there. Some of it worked, and some of it didn't. Fortunately, I've been able to laugh off a lot of the failures and take with me what has served me. Most of the lessons can be boiled down to simply learning to listen to my body, treating it well and fueling it with good fuel. While none of these are exactly novel concepts, far too many of us forget these simple truths.

Armed with a few more tools in my tool belt, I started to notice the lack of options on the market that fit these descriptions, especially when it came to snacks. There seemed to be a shortage of products that ticked all the boxes I was looking for: convenient, plant-based, satiating, low calorie, and tasty. With an emphasis on tasty. We need to get over this idea that good food doesn't need to taste good. So, I decided to do something about it! Months of experimenting led me to the product that so many of you now love.

With Caldo, I'm offering you an opportunity to take care of your body and to give you a reminder to take some time for yourself. Hopefully we can all learn from my mistakes and be a little healthier as a result of it. Caldo is my offer to support your healthy, whatever it looks like.

Lastly, Caldo's values.

LOCAL. As a small business, we know the value of developing relationships and supporting other small businesses. It also allows us to bring you a higher quality product by having better quality control.

ZERO WASTE. Working with local companies is one way we're reducing our carbon footprint, but we have much bigger plans. We are also in the midst of transitioning our packaging towards being 100% compostable.

We'd like to bring together the many of you that are making positive and healthy changes in your lives by supporting you and giving you an opportunity to connect with others who are doing the same.
